Updates and Plans from now on.

2012/03/17 by

Hello, this is Kidokoro. I realize we have been away for quite a while.
It has already been one year since that earthquake. Time certainly has went by very quick.
Fortunately, the area where I live, while it did shake, did not suffer any tremendous damages, and have been able to go back to normal life in a short time.

This blog has not been updated for quite sometime, but we plan to get back to writing things from time to time now.
I’m thinking of writing on things I thought was interesting, and things I’d like to recommend to others freely, without getting too worked up and attempting to write up a masterpiece.
After all, I can’t seem to get myself to write things when I get overly worked up…

While our blog may go astray from time to time, please do keep us in mind.

UBC Anime Club Halloween Dance 2010

2010/10/31 by

To my surprise, the English one comes out before the Japanese for once, and as belated as it is, it’s probably better than never!

It makes me wonder why/how I’m managed to do parts of this article live from the venue, but that aside.
It’s that time of the year again, for the UBC Anime Club’s annual Halloween Dance.
Those of you curious as to what the event is like can check out my previous article from about a year ago.

Instead of musical chairs – what was thought to have been more or less a tradition for UBC Anime Club’s dances – the featured activity of the night was an improv dance contest.
The idea was rather simple: the DJ would put on a random track of his choice, and the contestants would perform an improv dance routine.
If you thought that was hard enough, how about if the DJ switched to completely different song all the sudden?
To my amazement, all the contestants adjusted very well to the sudden changes, and danced their hearts out.

Some people may wonder as to what exactly gets played at a dance like this – it’s the day before Halloween, but this is an anime-themed dance.
I thought I’d just list some of the songs that were played – this is nowhere close to a complete list, but it should give you an idea:
– Pokemon Theme
– Butterfly (DDR ver. w/Pikachu)
– Listen!
– Sailor Moon Theme
– Fuwa Fuwa Time
– Hare Hare Yukai (twice!)
– Motteke Sailor-fuku
– infinity
– My Generation
– Power of Love (Sailor Moon)
– Monster Mash
– Ghostbusters
– Thriller
– Power Rangers Theme
– Gamble Ramble
– INVOKE
– Space Boy
(requests from attendees)
– Lion
– What ’bout my star
– magnet
– Luka Luka Night Fever
– Time Warp
– Caramelldansen
– Big Apple
– Original DB Opening
(during the dance contest)
– O2
– Bara Iro no Hibi
– STRENGTH
– Shonen Heart

So that’s about it folks, pics may come later when I have time.
